Would you like to connect with Esperanto speakers, improve your skills, and explore the vibrant culture of Seattle? The Nordokcidenta Regiona Esperanto-Konferenco (NOREK) 2026 invites you to a three-day event filled with engaging talks, lively discussions, and unique excursions. Whether you're fluent or just starting, you'll find activities designed for all levels of Esperanto speakers!

Friday, September 4

A screening of the 1966 Esperanto-language film, Incubus starring William Shatner.

Saturday, September 5

The main activities will take place on Saturday. The event will feature:

• Talks given in Esperanto

• Fun activities in Esperanto

• Meals shared together

• Chances to practice Esperanto together​

Sunday, September 6

Sunday will include an optional excursion, a ferry voyage to Bremerton to explore as a group and also, if there is interest, a visit to the free Naval museum. We will meet at the Seattle Ferry Terminal at 10:30 AM.

Please come prepared to pay for your own meals. Otherwise, NOREK 2026 will be donation based!

Transit Options

The easiest route depends on where you're coming from, Fire Department Administration building is served directly by King County Metro Route 106, which is the primary transit route for the area.

Here are the best options:

• From Downtown Seattle: Take Metro Route 106 toward Renton. It stops within a short walk on Renton Avenue S. This is the simplest one-seat ride.

• From Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA): Take the Link light rail north to Rainier Beach Station, then transfer to Route 106 toward Renton for a short ride

• From the International District/Chinatown Station: Board Route 106 directly. This is often the fastest option if you're already near downtown or arriving by Amtrak or Sounder.

• From Renton: Take Route 106 northbound. 

If you'll be staying in a downtown Seattle hotel, I recommend taking Route 106 directly. If you'll be staying near SeaTac Airport, use Link light rail to Rainier Beach, then transfer to Route 106. Those are typically the quickest and most reliable public transit options.

Re Transport: If planned ahead of time, we can arrange short drop off/pick ups from say the Rainier Beach station or a central location as we have a couple of people with cars.
